route 66 logoDespite torrential rains in the Phoenix area resulting in widespread flooding, nearly 225 RV dealers attended the 2014 Route 66 Rally, Sept. 8-10 in Scottsdale.

“Rain in Phoenix? While they said it wouldn’t happen, fortunately we had an indoor plan locked and loaded,” said Route 66 partner and co-founder Dave Francis in a press release. “Regardless, those who attended not only enjoyed the Hyatt Gainey Ranch, but also left with a renewed understanding of ‘WE >ME’ and what role we all play in strengthening the Route 66 brand.”

The network’s lead announcement was about the creation of a new lifestyle documentary television series under the working title “RV There Yet? “

This new, half-hour TV series will capture engaging stories from actual RVers to convey the importance of unplugging from ‘normal living’ and connecting with friends and family in an RV and the outdoors,” said Steve Francis, partner and co-founder of Route 66. “The show will be shot, directed and produced by Little Village Films, a Los Angeles-based film company that specializes in telling travel-related stories in an artistic, accessible and unique fashion. In addition, we’re very excited to welcome Jayco on board as one of the project’s title sponsors.”

Several other brand-related announcements included the introduction of the industry’s first stand-alone 24/7 technical support hotline called Route 66 Tech24. Also, the network’s proprietary website and software development company, Amdia Software, announced several new website features and support services to enhance the lead-generating performance of their network-exclusive dealer website platform. Route 66 also launched 2448 Productionsan in-house video production company, created to not only support network communications and branding efforts, but also serve the video needs of all dealerships in Route 66.
