The La Paz County Board of Supervisors has approved a tentative map for the proposed Mountain View RV Resort in Salome, Ariz. The approval came at the board’s July 2 meeting following a public hearing where some residents of a nearby air park objected to the project, according to the Parker Pioneer.

Chairman of the Board and District Two Supervisor Duce Minor along with District Three Supervisor Holly Irwin said this was just one step in the development process, and they hoped objections and concerns could be worked out as the process moved along.

Mountain View RV Resort is hoping to develop 150 RV sites for an RV subdivision on 154.86 acres in Salome.

Gary Hawkins, secretary/treasurer for Western Sky Air Park, said this development will be right under their flight path and this would lead to noise issues.

“We have 500 surplus RV spots in Salome,” he noted. “Why add more?”
