Tiffin Motor Homes Inc., Red Bay, Ala., led in 18 of the 24 categories measured by the 2006 Recreation Vehicle Dealers Association (RVDA) Dealer Satisfaction Index (DSI). In so doing, Tiffin joined Winnebago Industries Inc., Forest City, Iowa, Monaco Coach Corp., Coburg, Ore., and Home and Park Motorhomes, Kitchner, Ont., Canada, in earning a 2006 RVDA Quality Circle Award. Recognized during a reception the night before the kickoff of the 44th Annual RV National Trade Show last week in Louisville, Ky., are (left to right) Tiffin Chairman Bob Tiffin, Winnebago Chairman and CEO Bruce Hertzke, Monaco Chairman Kay Toolson and Home and Park Chairman Jeff Hannemaayer. Each company scored an overall rating of at least 80% based on the input of at least 15 dealers in categories that included sales, product, management and service/warranty support. Some 577 dealers evaluated manufacturers this year with 1,845 separate evaluations. NuWa Industries Inc., Chanute, Kan., received special recognition for achieving an 80% overall rating from fewer than 15 dealers. Winnebago, in turn, is the only company to have received the award each year since it was established 11 years ago. A total of 34 RV manufacturers received ratings from at least 15 dealers as part of a format that the RVDA board of directors plans to review in the year ahead through its Industry Relations Committee. “The DSI continues to evolve and it’s healthy to look at how we report the data to members and the industry,” RVDA President Mike Molino said in a prepared release after RVDA’s board met during the Louisville Show.
