CARAVAN SALON, the world’s largest trade fair for motorhomes and towable RVs , is preparing for its 2015 edition set for Aug. 29-Sept. 6 in Düsseldorf. According to a press release, a trade visitors day is scheduled for Aug. 28.
“Visitors can look forward to a complete market overview, numerous world premieres and a host of innovations. Demand from companies was so great that the halls are already fully booked early on,” noted Director Stefan Koschke. Around 590 international exhibitors with 130 caravan and motorhome brands will be presented in 11 halls and the outdoor space of the exhibition center.
The continued growth posted by the CARAVAN SALON signaled a new hall structure. “We want to offer visitors a coherent basic structure with clear segmentation, quick orientation and short distances. Which is why we have decided to optimise hall occupation enabling us to show even greater variety,” explained Koschke.
The accessories segment with themes like tents, folding/tent caravans, camping equipment, outdoor products and leisure goods will move into Hall 5 while the tourism segment with camp and motorhome sites as well as travel destinations will be located in the neighboring Hall 7.
For several years now the box van and van categories — compact vehicles weighing under 3 1/2 tons — have been posting huge increases. These compact vehicles are extremely popular both with families and couples of all ages because they can be used in everyday life. To meet exhibitors’ increased space needs box vans and vans will now move into Hall 15. As before, located in Hall 13 are industrial suppliers while in Halls 9 to 12 as well as 14, 16 and 17 are home to caravans and motor homes. A total of over 2,000 leisure vehicles will be presented.
Strong Brands, Great Variety and a Unique Lineup
The CARAVAN SALON is traditionally the platform for innovations and premieres in Europe – this is where top manufacturers in the sector showcase their innovations and a huge variety of brands. The lineup of vehicles presented in Düsseldorf ranges from folding caravans and family vehicles through to luxury motor homes.
There are small, simply fitted caravans while at the other end of the scale are custom luxury motorhomes. The fair showcases everything the market has to offer including, tried and tested interior layouts and vehicle classics alongside the new models for the 2016 season. Lightweight construction, environmental technology, security systems, reduced energy consumption and future-oriented developments are particular focuses of the manufacturers.
In addition to the vehicle lineup a range of accessories is showcased at the show. Whether it is under the engine hood, in the living space or related to the vehicle in general – new technical developments and detachable parts are very popular with visitors. In Hall 13 alone 150 international exhibitors will be presenting a unique lineup in the field of equipment, technology and installations.
Once again running in parallel on the second weekend will be the hiking fair TourNatur. The move into Hall 4 provides an even closer link to CARAVAN SALON with shorter distances and even better orientation. In addition to presenting more than 5,000 hiking destinations exhibitors here offer the latest equipment as well as expert advice on the topic of hiking. A total of 275 exhibitors are represented at this Germany’s only consumer exhibition for hiking.
