2027 Model Year Guide: Forest River Towables

Mike Gaeddert with the Forest River Teleos

While Forest River’s many brands will have plenty tfor dealers to review during its Expo, perhaps the biggest news from the Elkhart, Ind.-headquartered OEM is the launch of the Teleos, a new line of highly-stylized premium travel trailers that officials said would fill a hole in the manufacturer’s overall lineup.

Beyond filling a gap, though General Manager Mike Gaeddert and Coachmen Engineer Joey Gould —with guidance from corporate engineer Todd Lozier – set out to design something unlike anything else in the industry.

And even at first glance, there’s little doubt the Teleos is not your standard travel trailer. The front and rear caps of the 28-foot prototypes — the box measures 24 feet, 8 inches — read more like a high-end Class A motorhome, the European-leaning rear cap complete with reverse lights and a third brake light.

But it’s more than just looks, Gaeddert said. It’s also what it’s what it’s built to do. Most premium travel trailers force a choice: resort-style luxury tethered to shore power, or off-grid capability that trades away comfort and finish. The Teleos was engineered to refuse that choice — at a full-hookup campground it’s a residential-grade retreat; but unplug it and point it toward Moab or Quartzsite, and nothing gets left behind. “The way I describe it is: this unit lives two lives. It has the capability of an overlander and the trim level of an Airstream,” Gaeddert said. “When they want to go somewhere without shore power access, they’re not giving anything up. That flexibility is the whole point.”.

Puma Vista 38VFL

Puma will have more floorplans than normal this year, about 8-10. The Puma Vista 38VFL is one of their first destination travel trailers with loft height.

“This Destination Loft segment has really exploded and sleeps 10,” said Group General Manager Fred Hershberger. But for retirees who don’t need the loft sleeping, he added, this model doesn’t have steps or a loft, just the height. “It opens up the floorplan and feels like a condo.”

The Puma Mirage 1 offers one level living and residential feel in a fifth-wheel. William Miller, general manager of Plant 410, said, “This is a Class A mobile home floorplan on a fifth-wheel chassis.”

Once you enter the unit there are no steps. It’s the only fifth-wheel that’s 100% composite flooring on the main floor, basement and slideouts. The height is 7’ throughout the unit. It has the most pass-through storage for a 36’ and under, Miller said, and an exceptional front kitchen floor plan with residential size refrigerator, four-burner stove, and more.

The Puma 131 RBCE is a great all-electric weekend camper. It sleeps two but has a full bath.

The Columbus 340RG, officials said, is the first time the company has designed a light and compact floorplan under 35’ so it can be taken into state parks and national parks. It has the same standard construction as other Columbus models. The Columbus and River Ranch have the same features as the Puma Mirage 1 and Forest River has a file patent on it.

For the East to West Ahara, Blackthorn and Tandara product lines, they’re introducing a couple of new floorplans,  giving customers high-profile fifth-wheels at a mid-level price point.

Ahara 382

The Ahara 382 has a unique floorplan with a rear kitchen but with a straight roof line, like a toy hauler with a  vaulted ceiling, and a large home-like window over the sink . It has a new GE true residential-size dishwasher and a coffee station with pull-out shelves for small appliances. It has a full-size shower, double vanity and a unique expanded bed slide, allowing for nightstands on both sides of the bed and walking space for ease in bed-making.

Tandara has a front kitchen floorplan that is “amazing for the price point.” It has a full kitchen with 24” oven, four-burner range and spacious cabinets. The living room has a 65” TV, two hide-a-beds and two recliners.

New for 2027 is the addition of Solaire Lite lines. The Solaire Lite 303 has a larger bed in the bunk room, something dealers have been asking for. Designers added a queen bed for additional sleeping options. The floor space under the queen bed is wide open for pass-through storage. A bench seat for putting on shoes or hopping up onto the bunk also was added. Dealers now have two categories and two price points in the Solaire line.

Alta 3150KBH

There are five new floor plans for the Alta in 2027, concentrating on 28’ and under. The lamination build process also was upgraded, while reducing the weight.

The Longitude is getting a complete overhaul with seven new floorplans, new furniture, adding warm touches of wood to the décor, with the focus on mid-small models.

* * *

Flagstaff and Rockwood will have a total of 10 new floorplans. The big focal point is longer length fifth-wheels, 38’ and up, with all the bells and whistles, wood features and high-end appliances.

The Rockwood 403SFK is a two-bedroom, two bath model with wider floor space. The fireplace is in the island is said to be “a space heater with ambiance.” It has spacious living areas.

Rockwood Geo Pro G20SFB

The Flagstaff E-Pro and Rockwood Geo-Pro are 6 inches wider in the 2027 models with upgraded axles, real wood cabinets, better tires, and more solar for off-grid but with an inverter. It has “Power Pro” AI, which will follow a list of demands like dimming the lights when you want to watch a movie.

The Rockwood Mini Lite line are all under 26’ with an upgraded coil suspension called the Black Diamond package as an add-on, no slideouts so it’s always in “road mode” as well as leaving the bathroom or refrigerator accessible while going down the road. “It’s very well-insulated, like a Yeti cooler,” said Steve Jacobs, national sales manager, and offers more flexibility.

Rockwood 2525RB Mini Lite

The Rockwood 2525RB Mini Lite has a new outdoor kitchen, big pass-through storage, front bedroom with wardrobes and underbed storage.

The LE Series is new and more cost-friendly. It’s more for weekend camping and has solar, but no inverter.

Surveyor fifth-wheels return in 2027. Product Manager Ben Holdread said the line will come in six models, each with a focus on providing what he called “premium value” to customers.

“We believe in listening to the market and learning what RVers actually want,” he said. “We are less focused on features and more focused on the experience customers are looking for when camping. It’s all about giving them a better experience and more functionality, and giving them the chance to make memories at the camp site.”

The six floorplans are the 27MK, 27ML, 30BH, 32RL, 36MB and 36ML. Weights, lengths and MSRPs were still being calculated.

Surveyor 27MK

The 27MK features a 66”x80” north-south bed, theater seating in the living room and the Bar 2 Table concept, allowing greater adaptability to the living space. The 36MB features the same sized bed, but has a flip-down bunk, loft above and desk and dresser in a separate space. It also features a fireplace in the entertainment center.

All other Surveyor RVs will receive brand new graphics and interior color schemes.

“We try to capture what’s trending on the residential side,” said Holdread. “We are even taking inspiration from boutique hotels.”

Among the new floorplans is the 242RDLE in the Surveyor Legend travel trailer series, which has a dry weight of about 6,000 pounds, MSRP of $59,000 and measures 29’9” long. The 242RDLE features theater seating, EZ Out sofa bed, flip-up window and 60”x80” north-south queen bed. Weights, lengths and MSRPs were still being calculated.

The IBEX line now boasts a brand-new three-quarter fiberglass front cap and automotive bonded front windshield, along with a lit front logo.

“It has that tough look,” said Holdread. “It’s good looking, but rugged at the same time. Starlink prep is also available, giving customers more options to work remotely from wherever they want.”

IBEX 23MBH

Among the new floorplans are the 23MBH, which features a north-south 60”x80” Murphy bed, dinette, indoor and outdoor kitchens, and a pre-installed solar panel with a 30-amp controller and inverter prep. The unit also features a 52”x74” bunk at the rear, which has its own “adventure” door for quick entry and exit.

No Boundaries (NoBo) shares similar new floorplans with the IBEX with similar features, including the option tri-fold “super lounge” and Starlink prep. Floorplans in the NoBo line will include a decimal point, along the lines of NB 21.1, 20.8, 19.6, etc. Weights, lengths and MSRPs for IBEX and NoBo have not yet been shared.

R-Pod RP206

R-Pod units are getting a refresh, with brand new exterior graphics featuring prominently. Among the new floorplans is the RP206. It features an on-demand tankless water heater, 15,000 BTU air conditioner, operational tri-fold “super lounge,” booth dinette option, bar top and flip-up window. All specs are still being calculated.

Un-Mapped was launched in MY26 and is now entering its second year of production. Company officials wanted to keep the product consistent for the budding customer base, with the 23MK floorplan building off the line’s most popular features, including the Bar2Table concept, Trailgate bar, corner-rear kitchen and standard theatre seat. MSRP around $57,000. Dry weight around 6,000 pounds. The trailer is 28’11” long.

Beginning in late 2025, Nick Rost, sales product manager for Wildwood, Heritage Glen, Salem, and Hemisphere towable products, said Forest River was focusing on the Hyper Lite travel trailer lineup to get weights down while lowering its price point aggressively without removing popular features.

Salem 255RBHL

That resulted in the new 255RBHL, a 31’ travel trailer at 6,350 pounds dry weight. Key features include a FRP roof made of Impact Guard, a polypropylene one-piece roof that requires little to no maintenance. Wide-stance axles on all its travel trailers are 42” hub-to-hub, for less wear on tires and more stability pulling. New square windows with the built-in shades and reflective foil backing are all trimmed with solid wood in the interior. The 82” interior ceiling height provides a roomy feel.

“The 255RBHL is representative of the whole line of our 2027 lineup,” said Rost. “One of the other key features on our Hyper Lite and travel trailers is the flush floor slide mechanism. We designed a special pan so our floors can remain flush. There’s no carpet in any of our units. This is all marine grade flooring, so it cleans up really nice. MSRP on this 31-footer is $55,000.”

XLR 3012B

Forest River’s Lance Lees and Nick Sweazy said highlighted the XLR 3012B toy hauler for 2027. This new floorplan in its Boost Series, they said, is the company’s first travel trailer toy hauler with an L-shaped sofa in the living area. The L-shaped sofa provides more seating and the king bed and the garage, which doubles as a bunk room, with a bath and a half provides more sleeping for large families.

“It makes for a great couples coach or a group of four or five because you can seat and sleep everybody,” said Lees. “And at 36’ and 9,000 pounds, it’s a true toy hauler, but also flexes to a 35’ bunkhouse. It also has a 12’ garage perfect for motorcycles, golf carts, two-seater side-by-sides, or just people who want to have that bunk room. Nowadays people are using toy haulers for a lot of different things besides toys, like a mobile office. It’s really a Swiss army knife of RVs.”

A 40-gallon fuel station and generator option is available for 2027. Interiors and exteriors have been revamped across the whole line. MSRP for the New XLR 3012B is $62,000 to $75,000 depending on option packages. Late in 2026, a stick-and-tin segment, designed to hit at even lower price points for the XLR Boost series, will become available. They said the entire lineup will range between $29,000 to $145,000 to accommodate every buyer.

Ron Mullet, Jr., senior general manager of many Forest River towable brands – including Salem, Wildwood, Cedar Creek, Cedar, Sandpiper, Riverstone, XLR, Stealth, Shockwave, Sandstorm, Impression and Vibe – explained that he is aggressively attacking market share on the Salem and Wildwood stick-and-tin front, and various others in his lineup.

“The end goal is to give dealers a product they can make money with,” explained Mullet. “When profits are hard to come by, we are looking to set ourselves apart, and we’ve done that by reducing our overall price points by about 4% on the stick-and-tin piece, while many of our competition has increased between 2% and 4%. All while retaining the quality piece, staffing a 90-plus employee parts and service department, all while employing mobile service techs.”

He said he has driven costs down through focus on overheads, partnerships on the supplier chain front. The goal is to reduce overall BOMs, taking a high-volume, low-margin approach.

“A focus is on the Salem FSX and the Wildwood FSX, and its new 178BH, we’ve designed that product to hit a retail price point at $19,900,” said Mullet.

Wildwood FSX 178BH

This one-slide model has a variety of actual upgrades while providing a lower price. Some of the separating features on the 178BH include a 13.5K BTU AC instead of the 8,000 BTU in most of this class. A walk-around RV queen bed with a user-friendly Murphy bed are also standard as are a 60,000 BTU water heater and a large 10.7-cubic-foot double-door refrigerator. It has an upgraded three-piece bath as well.

Product Manager Doug Acker with Impression showcased the new 37MB2B, mid-bunk, two bath. He said the Forest River Impression is up 20% market share year to date.

“Our focus has been on unique models, feature-heavy,” said Acker. “Our 360MYR and our 36BR3 are a big reason for the growth. We’re launching this 37MB2B to focus on a larger family to help complete our Impression lineup,”

Impression 37MB2B

The new 37MB2B will feature one and a half baths and a mid-bunk. The spacious mid-bunk has a day bed included and is office-ready. The unit has a comfortable living space with seating for six people. There is an upgraded appliance package with dishwasher in here, high gloss gel coat exterior, extended season package, and king bed in the master bedroom. The unit will sleep eight.

This 43-footer has an MSRP from $110,000 to $115,000 depending on options. Dry weight is about 12,700 to 13,000 pounds.

398FL Cedar Creek

General Manager Curtis Gunter is introducing the new 398FL Cedar Creek for 2027. Gunter stated that Cedar Creek and Riverstone are two of three fifth-wheel brands still built with a hung wall construction, the same process as the highest-end motorhomes.

The new 398FL is a different take on a front living room fifth-wheels, Gunter said.

“The bedroom and bathroom combo is unique,” he said. “There isn’t anything out there on the market like it, as far as the way that the space comes together. Traditionally, front living rooms have two opposing slides. We chose to not put an opposing slide on the door side. One, it adds to the awning space outside, and two, we’re able to put a much larger 65” TV up there.”

Other improvements include full-size appliances, 7’3” high and 101” wide slideouts to match the new fifth-wheel max regulations and provide a more spacious feel inside. This 45-footer weighs just over 15,000 pounds. MSRP will be around $135,000 depending on extras. There is an optional Champagne Package with many upgrades.

Forest River towable brands under John Quake are rolling out a broad slate of products at this year’s Expo, giving dealers plenty to plan for. Across nearly a dozen brands, the throughline is consistent: new floorplans designed to meet market needs, meaningful quality and durability upgrades, and pricing strategies for multiple market segments.

Acclaim has been substantially reworked. Designers redesigned the front end, adding bedroom storage, and refreshed exterior graphics with black metal accents. Interior colors were overhauled — blue cabinetry gave way to a “chili teak” finish, with new flooring and wallboard. The current five-floorplan lineup (two double-axle, three single-axle) will expand with additional floorplans introduced at Expo offering useful entry points for dealers looking to round out affordable inventory.

Arctic Wolf and Alpha Wolf upgraded exterior graphics and shifted to rot-resistant NXTX composite paneling. Each will show about six new floorplans at Expo.

Sanibel 40

The popular Prime Time Tracer and Lacrosse ultra-lite travel trailers add many new floorplans, including larger rear-living couples coaches and several new bunkhouse models.

On the wide-body side, Crusader undercuts pricing of other premium fifth-wheels, yet at a matching 102” width, adding the two-bedroom 2Suite and King 33; Sanibel’s 40 Bunk pairs four hardwood bunks with a full bath and triple-AC cooling package. Additionally, Sanibel features drop-frame storage and a CURT Helix pin box for superior towing.

The Vengeance Rouge Armored pushes into the luxury toy-hauler tier with full-body-paint fifth-wheels.

The Cherokee family is expanding aggressively with the sub-2,000-pound Wolf Pup 9CELP, the Gray Wolf 21AB, rear-kitchen Wolf Den models, and a revamped Alpha Wolf featuring washer/dryer prep and off-grid power rails.

Wolf Pack 348 Pack 10.5

Cherokee’s exclusive toy haul line, the Wolf Pack, debuts its first triple-slide fifth wheel, the 348 Pack 10.5, featuring a sunken garage for easier loading, laminated four-season wall, and extended loft sleeping area above the garage.

Cardinal gets a full 2027 model-year overhaul, shifting from mid- to full-profile construction and adding two fifth wheels: the quad-slide 38DEN, with a bonus loft/den room, and the 32CHILL, a 35-foot couples coach — bringing the lineup to eight floor plans total.
