In just a few short years since its 2022 founding by Earl Williams, Modern Buggy has managed to quickly establish a solid — and growing — position in the small-to-mid-sized, lightweight towable and truck camper market.
“I started in 2022 just renting this little spot up here,” said Williams, who founded the company on a leased lot just outside Edwardsburg, Mich. “I wouldn’t say we’ve got it figured out by any stretch, because we’re still putting procedures and systems in place as we’re growing,” he said from his modest office adjacent to that facility. “But, it’s incredible. We’ve already — in the first three months of 2026 — built, sold and have higher revenue than we did in all of the year 2025.”
In late 2022, Williams ended up purchasing that 42-acre site in Edwardsburg as the company’s teardrop trailer was well received and demand was increasing fast. In 2023, Modern Buggy added a 6,000-square-foot facility — with yet another addition in 2024.
Fast forward to January of 2026 and Modern Buggy purchased its third production facility, this one in Elkhart, Ind. A fourth facility was also under construction back in Edwardsburg.
Needless to say, “ModBug” has quite a story to tell — and 2027 model year products to show.
For the Elkhart RV Open House, Modern Buggy will welcome dealers to its Executive Parkway location from 9 am to 8 p.m., Monday through Thursday, and 9 a.m. to noon, Friday.
