The Escapees RV Club will host the 57th Escapade at the Pima County Fairgrounds in Tucson, Ariz., on March 19-24. According to a press release, Escapade is a five-day rally focused on the RV way of life, delivering an extensive lineup of educational workshops and lifestyle presentations.
For the serious RVer, Escapade is the perfect opportunity to learn or refine the nuances of a lifestyle that continues to attract devotees. The event also provides the camaraderie with fellow RVers along with an “educational college” offering classes geared to the needs of serious RVers as well as teaching RV basics.
First held in Bakersfield, Calif., in 1979, with 24 families attending, the event now hosts nearly 2,000 attendees from across the nation and internationally. As the third-largest RV club in the nation, Escapees RV Club members “share a special bond and a passion for RV travel,” the release stated.
The Escapade will host a complimentary community appreciation day on March 22 as area residents are invited to visit from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Guests may participate in the seminars, craft show-and-sell and peruse the wide selection of RV-related products available in the exhibitor and market areas.
In keeping with the Escapees motto of “caring and sharing,” the club will support the Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona with a food and essential needs collection. In addition, Escapade delivers as much as a million dollars into the local economy while attendees shop, dine and enjoy the charm of the local areas.
As a bonus this year, during Escapade’s farewell party, Escapees will be celebrating the 90th birthday of the Escapee RV Club’s founder, Kay Peterson, who will be in attendance. Kay, and her late husband, Joe, are members of the RV/MH Hall of Fame.
