First-term Indiana Gov. Eric Holcomb and high-profile economist Peter Morici will keynote the 2019 RV Industry Power Breakfast, now in its seventh year, on May 9 at the Northern Indiana Event Center, part of the RV/MH Hall of Fame on the northeast side of Elkhart, Ind.
Spokesmen for the RV Industry Association (RVIA) and Kampgrounds of America Inc. (KOA) will also update attendees on a number of fronts at the annual breakfast, which has consistently grown since 2013 from 400 to nearly a thousand diners representing the mainstream RV industry as well as area business and civic officials.
This year’s appearance is the second for Holcomb, who has continued to gain favor in the Hoosier State for a variety of reasons since he took the stage at the 2017 Power Breakfast.
Well known on the national stage, Morici is an emeritus professor at the Robert H. Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland and a nationally syndicated columnist whose views appear regularly in MarketWatch, the Washington Times and other major metropolitan newspapers throughout North America as well as network TV and radio. A seven-time winner of the MarketWatch top forecaster award and an author of 18 books, Morici’s appearance is being sponsored by Wells Fargo CDF.
“The RV industry has done a great job of working together to find common ground, especially here in northern Indiana where so many manufacturers and suppliers are situated,” said Sherm Goldenberg, publisher of RVBusiness magazine, which works closely with an ad hoc committee of industry executives to facilitate the annual breakfast. “It’s good for us to slow down for a couple of hours once a year, break bread together and get a broader look at where we’ve been and where we might be going in the future.
“When all is said and done, attendees should come away from the breakfast with a load of information, including a look at KOA’s latest camper survey data and RVIA’s new RV Technical Institute, as well as a heck of a good catered meal.”
