The month of September is a special time for our association and industry in the state of Florida as we kick off our annual convention this year at the Marriott Harbor Beach Resort in Fort Lauderdale.

It’s a time for fun and relaxation, time to network and share ideas, time to learn and see what’s new in our industry. As I reflect on our industry since our last convention, I am encouraged by the positive results and feedback we are receiving from our members. Sales are up in most areas and manufacturers are ramping up their production to keep up with demand. Our service bays are full again, parts department volume is on the increase and campgrounds are filling up. RV shows are back on a growth pace, both in dealer participation and public attendance.

If you have been traveling this summer on our nation’s highways, you could not help but notice the number of RVs out on the road. All of that is painting a very positive picture for our industry in the coming season. In order for us to just stay ahead of the curve and to make the best of the approaching season, we need to examine our strategies and practices, to improve those that are successful and to change what is not.

If you join us at the convention this month, I hope you find a wealth of information and encouragement in the breakout sessions, great speakers and fun activities that our great staff has worked so hard to prepare for us. As I come to the end of my term as FRVTA state president, I want to thank each one of our members for their support. I have truly enjoyed my time and have learned so much along the way.

Please get involved–you will never regret it. Now, let’s have some fun and sell some RVs!
