Ventura, Calif.-based Affinity Group Inc. (AGI), through its AGI Events division, today (Oct. 11) announced the acquisition of four North Carolina-based RV shows, produced by Apple Rock Advertising and Promotion Inc.
According to a press release, three shows are held in the winter, one each in Greensboro, Charlotte and Raleigh. The fourth is a late-season event held in Greensboro each September.
The acquisition is the fourth in the past two years for AGI Events, and it elevates their consumer show total to 29 events in 15 cities.
“We are continuing to build our consumer show division at a pretty good clip,” says Steve Hedlund, president of AGI Events. “In addition to our recent acquisitions, we launched two new shows in 2006, and have two more planned for 2007. The marriage between the shows and AGI’s RV, boat and powersports marketing assets creates tremendous added value for show exhibitors and attendees.”
The North Carolina shows will continue to be managed by Eric Burg, president of Apple Rock Advertising and Promotion, in partnership with David Posner, general manager of AGI Event’s Richmond, Va., office.
“I’ve spent 18 years building these RV shows with my RV dealer partners,” says Burg. “I’m incredibly excited with the added marketing muscle AGI will bring to help take these shows to another level of success.”
In addition to its Richmond, Va., office, which produces 15 shows, AGI Events has regional offices in Las Vegas, (nine shows) and Minneapolis, Minn., (five shows).
