Affinity Group Inc. (AGI) announced in February the launch of American Recreation Consumer Shows (ARCS), a division that owns and operates recreation-focused, consumer-oriented shows throughout the U.S.
According to a press release, ARCS has evolved into the leading producer of regional recreation shows that cater to the RV, boat, motorcycle, snowmobile, all-terrain vehicle (ATV) and ice fishing industries.
“Our vision with this new division is to put more product, like RVs and boats, in front of consumers so they can see, touch and buy,” said Mike Schneider, president and CEO of AGI.
The most recently AGI-hosted events were the 41st Annual Minneapolis/St. Paul Snowmobile Show Nov.11-13, which attracted more than 12,000 attendees, and the 13th Annual St. Paul Ice Fishing and Winter Sports Show Dec. 2-4 at the St. Paul River Centre in St. Paul, Minn.
“Enthusiasts and vendors look forward to ARCS shows as a means of keeping up-to-date on technology,” said Tom Gaither, vice president of ARCS. “These shows are a great place to interact with people who share a mutual passion for a sport or recreation in the quality environment that the AGI name ensures.”
ARCS will host two more shows in the spring 2006 season:
• The 39th Annual Minneapolis/St. Paul RV, Vacation & Camping Show will run Feb. 8-12 at the Minneapolis Convention Center in Minneapolis, Minn. The show is widely recognized as the largest consumer show in the five-state area of Iowa, Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota and Wisconsin.
• The Spring Pomona RV & Outdoor Lifestyle Show is scheduled for April 20-23 at the Pomona Fairplex in Pomona, Calif. The top names in the RVing and boating industries will be showcased along with information about campsite destinations, lakes, cabins along with RV, boat, motorcycle and ATV accessories.
