An estimated 12,000 people in 6,000 RVs are expected to attend the Great North American RV Rally (GNARR), sponsored by Affinity Group Inc. (AGI), rv.net and AGI’s brand divisions.
“We know that RVers are traveling in record numbers because we are sold-out for this year’s rally,” said Sue Bray, executive director of the Good Sam Club, which is an AGI brand division, along with Coast to Coast, Camping World, Golf Card, TLE Publications and Woodall’s.
RV Business and RVBUSINESS.COM are units of TLE.
The rally, also known as GNARR, will take place at the Kentucky Fair & Exposition Center (KFEC) on Louisville’s south side. There also will be parking at nearby Papa John’s Cardinal Stadium and Bowman Field. Transportation will be provided from those locations to activities at the KFEC, which includes the Freedom Hall indoor stadium.
RV lifestyle enthusiasts can begin gathering as early June 14 for the rally, which will officially open on June 16 and continue through June 19.
Opening-night festivities will include Grammy Award winner Lee Greenwood, who is expected to perform his song “God Bless the USA” in keeping with the evening’s patriotic theme. Military personnel from nearby Fort Knox, and the families of those serving overseas will be guests at the opening-night show inside Freedom Hall.
Additionally, there will be more than 500 exhibitors, including at least two major RV manufacturers who will unveil new models during the ralley.
“We even have our own version of the American Idol competition,” Bray said. “This year the Rally Idol competition winner will perform for the audience as the opening act for the Oak Ridge Boys (on June 19). It’s a great finale for the event.”
