Airstream Inc. has been named to the 2005 “Fast 50” list compiled by Fast Company magazine, recognizing the Jackson Center, Ohio-based company’s innovative and forward-thinking business environment.
The list appears in the publication’s March 2005 issue.
According to a press release, Fast Company noted Airstream’s ability to combine its vintage aluminum exterior design with modern day technologies and conveniences.
Airstream also revamped its dealer network and refocused its marketing efforts on Baby Boomers to create a new generation of Airstream enthusiasts, resulting in: 57% growth in revenues in the last fiscal year; a 50% increase in the company’s dealer base; and a 39% expansion in Airstream’s work force.
“This ‘Fast 50’ award is wonderful recognition of the great work by everyone at Airstream in bringing our company forward in recent years,” says Dicky Riegel, president and CEO.  “We have a heritage brand, and we’ve made it relevant to today’s market under the same hallmarks that we were founded under nearly 75 years ago. Airstream is on good footing, is growing strongly and is aggressively pushing into the future.”
