Wichita, Kan.-based Airxcel Inc. announced that Jeff Rutherford has been named president, effective Feb. 1. Rutherford joined Airxcel in June of 2013 as its COO.
“Jeff has learned the business of Airxcel quickly and has demonstrated excellent leadership skills which, coupled with his past experience, make this move a natural progression in our management plan,” said CEO Mel Adams. “Airxcel is fortunate to have Jeff as president, ready to lead the business to new opportunities of growth.”
Rutherford noted, “Airxcel’s brands – Coleman-Mach, Suburban, MaxxAir and Marvair – have earned a great reputation in the markets served for delivering high quality and value to the end user. Continuing the legacy of providing exceptional value and leading the team of employees who develop, manufacture, sell and serve our customers is an honor.”
Prior to joining Airxcel, Rutherford was president of Carefree of Colorado, a leading designer, manufacturer and marketer of RV awnings and shades. Currently, he is a board member of the Recreation Vehicle Industry Association (RVIA) and was recently appointed to chair the association’s Service Training Council.
