Bus converter American Carriage Inc. is building a new 28,000-square-foot production plant in Tehachapi, Calif., which will allow the firm to expand its output.
Construction of the facility, located east of Bakersfield, began in February and it is scheduled for completion in September.
The new plant will be big enough to allow for work on up to six luxury motorcoaches at one time, a 300% expansion compared with the company’s current facility, according to Family Motor Coaching magazine.
American Carriage’s new plant also will have better office space and conference room accommodations.
The company is owned by March and Jocelyn Fechner.
