American Coach, a division of the REV Recreation Group, reintroduced the American Dream 42S, the line’s fourth model offering a full-wall streetside slide in a bath-and-a-half configuration.
“We really wanted to try to put an emphasis on checking all those boxes that people were looking for, and with this we have hit on the old adage of ‘cocktails for six, dining for four, sleeping for two,’” said Jayne Fairley, Eastern North America account manager for American Coach, which rolled out at the Florida RV SuperShow.
The 43-foot 42S is built on a Freightliner ISL chassis and powered by a 450-hp Cummins ISL turbocharged engine paired with an Allison 3000 transmission. The 42S continues the traditional décor found in the other Dream models, Fairley noted, adding that people appreciate the campsite-side dining table and mid-ship TV located across from theater seating, among other high-end features.
“When I look at what checks the box, this has it all: the full-wall slide, the mid-ship TV, a bath-and-a-half, the side-mount radiator, dual leveling. Everything is pretty much standard on this coach; we don’t have a whole lot of options. I think we just hit the mark,” Fairley said of the unit that carries an MSRP in the $550,000 range.
