American RV and Marine is scheduled to open a new store in Albuquerque, N.M., late this year that will cover 100 acres and include such amenities as dining, shopping and an art gallery.
American RV and Marine, part of Freedom Roads LLC, the nation’s largest RV dealership network, also operates a 1,000-acre dealership in El Paso, Texas. The company said both locations will include a Camping World RV accessories store.
Jim Paxton, president of American RV and Marine, said: “We are expanding our operations as we see a robust and growing market in Baby Boomers. They are retiring in large numbers and looking favorably at the benefits of the RV lifestyle. We know that this market has increasingly high expectations, so we are building a phenomenal facility with that squarely in mind.”
The new facility will stock a large RV inventory in excess of $25 million, according to the company. The showroom will be one of the largest in the country, covering 27,000 square feet and featuring handmade Southwest furnishings, a food cantina seating 100 people, a large advanced technology meeting facility and an art gallery.
A 24-bay service department with six detailing bays will offer comprehensive service, including handling drop-in customers with emergency needs.
Marcus Lemonis, co-founder, president and CEO of Lincolnshire, Ill.-based FreedomRoads, stated, “Our strategy is to be a dominant presence in RV retailing by meeting the needs of increasingly demanding and discerning customers. If that means acquiring a dealership and improving it or acquiring land and building outstanding new facilities like this, one way or the other we are going to meet those needs.”
