American RV & Marine, a dealership with locations in Albuquerque, N.M., and Anthony, Texas, has joined the Holiday Holdings LLC dealership alliance, according to Holiday Holdings President Marcus Lemonis.
The 21-year-old company, founded by Jim Paxton and his partner, Robert Maese, had around $75 million in sales revenue last year, Lemonis said.
“We’re really excited to have someone of the caliber of Jim Paxton and his team to join our team,” said Craig Jensen, principal of Blaine Jensen & Sons, Kaysville, Utah, and the Holiday Holdings regional president who brought American RV into the alliance.
Paxton was the national Recreation Vehicle Dealers Association (RVDA) Southwest Dealer of the Year for 2003.
Camping World aftermarket accessories stores will open at the American RV locations in Albuquerque and Anthony, a town located north of El Paso at the Texas-New Mexico border, Jensen said.
A few years ago, American RV bought 1,000 acres in Anthony and has developed it into a 240-space rally park along with 92 RV resort spaces with 50-amp electric service, water and 20 dump stations, according to American RV’s website.
Eventually, Paxton plans to develop the remainder of the property in Anthony into a “Disneyland for RVers” that would include buildings designed in the “Old West” style.
American RV also will break ground soon along I-40 in Albuquerque on a development that will be patterned after what the dealership has done in Anthony.
Camping World is a unit of Affinity Group Inc. (AGI), as is TL Enterprises Inc., publisher of RV Business and RVBUSINESS.com.
AGI Chairman Steve Adams is the founder of Holiday Holdings.
