American RV’s outlet in Anthony, Texas, is hoping to double its sales this weekend when the company sponsors its third annual Southwest Cowboy Traditions Festival, according to a report in the El Paso Times.
“We usually sell 15 vehicles per weekend,” said Dennece Knight, director of corporate marketing and development for the FreedomRoads dealership. “This weekend, we’ll sell about 30.”
Event organizers are expecting around 4,000 visitors, including RVers from 16 U.S. states and Canada who have registered for a companion RV rally. Knight said all 332 RV spaces have been booked for the weekend.
“We expect more than 800 to stay for the weekend from the RV rally alone, not counting general admission visitors,” she said.
The Western-theme entertainment will include cowboy songs, poetry, Western stories, roping, riding, gunfight re-enactments, mounted shooting competitions, Dutch-oven cooking, a chili cookoff and several events for children.
Knight said visitors to the festival will spend nearly $500,000 in the El Paso area over the weekend.
“We have other corporate sponsors,” noted Knight. “It’s a very costly event.”
