A Texas-based building products company is setting up a manufacturing operation in Fort Wayne, Ind., that will create 64 jobs by 2008.
The Fort Wayne Journal Gazette reported that Amerimax Building Products Inc., which manufactures patio doors, vinyl windows and fabricated metal products for the recreational vehicle and manufactured housing industries, will be investing about $6.4 million in the project.
The company will lease a 100,000-square-foot plant and production is expected to begin in the second quarter of the year.
The new jobs will be a mix of production and supervisory positions, said Rob Young, president of the Fort Wayne-Allen County Economic Development Alliance. The paper reported that Amerimax will receive several incentives to locate in Fort Wayne.
“Customer demand and product improvements within our industries are driving the establishment of our new Fort Wayne operation,” said Scott Anderson, president of Amerimax.
Amerimax has 16 locations, including three in Indiana’s Elkhart County.
