Bus conversion manufacturer Angola Coach Inc., Angola, Ind., halted production last spring, but a spokesman for the company’s dealer in Florida said an effort is underway to re-open the firm.
Callers to the Angola Coach phone number in Northeast Indiana hear a message that the line has been disconnected or no longer is in service, and the company’s website, www.angolacoach.com, is not functioning.
Other attempts to reach company President Mark Elbrecht were unsuccessful.
Angola Coach halted production last spring and Elbrecht attempted to revive the firm but “everything is still up in the air,” said Rich Jones, spokesman for Fountain RV Sales in Lakeland, Fla., an Angola Coach dealer.
Fountain RV was known as Angola Coach South until its name was changed three months ago.
Angola Coach might re-open under a different name, said Jones, who added that he is confident the bus converter will return to production. “The paperwork is being prepared,” Jones added.
