Complete with some rain, the past weekend gave the West Virginia’s Tri-State a hint of spring, making it the perfect weather for the 37th annual Huntington RV and Boat Show at Big Sandy Superstore Arena.
As reported by the Herald-Dispatch, Curt and Rhonda Branham said they make the trip to Huntington from Prestonsburg, Ky., almost every year. They said it’s the closest RV and boat show.
“We’ve been cooped up all winter,” Curt Branham said. “But it’s also to see what’s new in the camping world.”
By mid-day Sunday (Jan. 28), attendance was already on par with last year’s record breaking numbers, said show coordinator Jeff Scott, and people were still steadily entering the arena.
Lynn Butler, president of the West Virginia RV and Boat Association and owner of Setzer’s World of Camping in Huntington, said attendance had been good all weekend and people were in good moods.
She said most people are looking for mid-size travel trailers. Bunk beds are also a hot commodity, especially for parents and grandparents.
