An Arkansas medical center is offering lodging and RV accommodations to relatives or friends traveling long distances to visit patients, according to a report in the Baxter Bulletin.
The Baxter Regional Medical Center has provided a Guest House along with recreational vehicle hookups directly behind the hospital parking lot, said COO Rob Marshall, offering “lodging and supportive services for families of patients receiving medical care away from home.”
“Situated among tall shade trees, the split-level home has three bedrooms upstairs that share a kitchen, living room, dining area and a laundry room as well as one bedroom downstairs with its own kitchen,” Marshall said.
Three free recreational vehicle hookups also are available for patients and their families, he said.
“The RV service, which includes water, sewer and electricity – both 30- and 50-amp – is part of a parking lot located on the northwest side of the medical center,” Marshall said.
The Guest House was not designed to compete with local motels but to supplement the services of the hospital, he said.
