The National Association of RV Parks and Campgrounds (ARVC) named its Senior Vice President and COO Linda Profaizer president-elect and CEO of the national trade group during its InSites 2001 Convention and Expo, Nov. 28-Dec. 1 in Kissimmee, Fla.
Profaizer will replace David Gorin effective Jan. 1. Gorin resigned after nearly 15 years with the organization.
Before joining ARVC, Profaizer was president of Woodall’s Publications Corp., Lake Forest, Ill., now a division of Affinity Group Inc., parent of TL Enterprises Inc., the publisher of RV Business and RVBUSINESS.COM.
She spent 29 years at Woodall’s, working her way up from a part-time art director to president.
“We’re excited and pleased that Linda will be taking on the challenges of running ARVC,” stated Randy Packard, of Pine Acres Family Camping Resort, Oakham, Mass., who is entering his second year as ARVC’s chairman. “She knows the industry and park owners, and the experience she brings as the former president of Woodall’s will benefit the members of ARVC.”
Meanwhile, Profaizer said she is “passionate” about campground operators, because they wear so many hats in their day-to-day lives.
“I am honored to be given this opportunity to help lead this industry that has been an important part of my life, filled with people that I have such great respect and admiration for,” she said. ” I look forward to the challenge and want to hear from the members about what they would like to see their national association do for them.
“My husband, Tony, and I are campers. We still enjoy tenting from time to time, but, like many tenters, now also enjoy the comforts of our 28-foot Class C. I imagine my duties as president will keep me in the office much of
the time. But we hope to be able to visit your parks as time allows. There is no better way to enjoy being together than in the outdoors with great access to all the activities we enjoy,” she said.
