The staff of the National Association of RV Parks and Campgrounds (ARVC) has begun its transition from its office in Falls Church, Va., to the new headquarters in Larkspur, Colo., which is set to officially open Aug. 11.
As of Thursday (July 31), the Falls Church office will be closed. ARVC noted that “phone calls, e-mails and faxes to staff would be returned as quickly as possible during the transition.”
At its April board meeting in Denver, ARVC finalized plans to purchase five acres in the south metro Denver area for its new headquarters and proposed Center for Outdoor Hospitality.
ARVC bought the property from ARVC members Ian and Sally Steyn, owners of Castle Rock RV Park & Campground, for an undisclosed price. Their park adjoins the land they sold to ARVC.
Located halfway between Denver and Colorado Springs at the foot of the Rocky Mountains, the new ARVC facility will be in a 4,200-square-foot custom-built lodge, which currently resides on the property and serves as a vacation rental unit.
ARVC said three of its eight staff members elected to make the move to Larkspur, including Linda Profaizer, president and CEO; Kera Tomlin, director of marketing communications; and Grant Barnette, marketing and communications specialist.
Two other staffers, Jeanette Phillips, administrative assistant and office manager, and Natalie Espinoza, industry promotions and administration, will help in the transition period but will not remain on the ARVC staff after the move is completed.
Micki Leak, director of meetings and membership, and Mary Tack, education specialist, will remain on the staff of ARVC but in a remote basis in the East.
