Dura Automotive Systems Inc., parent of RV industry supplier firms Atwood Mobile Products and Excel Industries, reported lower second quarter earnings.
The company’s earnings declined 26% during the three months ended June 30 to $11.5 million.
Dura’s earnings were down primarily due to a one-time-only pretax charge of $16 million related to two auto industry product recalls.
Meanwhile, Dura’s second quarter sales increased 3% to $707.7 million.
During the first half of this year, Dura’s earnings climbed 46% to $27.9 million. Its sales revenue also increased 46% to $1.39 billion.
