Growth and expansion on the RV side of the business led to the sale of six auto dealerships by Tucson, Ariz.-based Beaudry Motor Co., according to a report in the Tucson Citizen.
Bob Beaudry, president of the company which includes Beaudry RV, said the six dealerships that were sold make up about half of his business holdings.
“We just had a very, very attractive offer and decided to take it,” Beaudry said. “It give us more capital for the RV centers.”
Beaudry said the company currently has three recreational vehicle dealerships in Tucson, Mesa and San Carlos, Calif. He is also planning construction of a $15 million RV center for the Gila River Indian Community just south of Phoenix.
“The RV business is expanding leaps and bounds,” Beaudry said.
Chapman Automotive Group purchased Beaudry’s auto dealerships for an undisclosed price, growing the business to 19 locations.
Beaudry Motor Co., a third generation family owned Tucson business founded in 1940 by S.M. “Mac” Beaudry, will continue operating used car dealerships and its Saturn dealership in Tucson, as well as its Chevrolet, Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge franchises in Benson, Ariz.
