Fleetwood Enterprises Inc. named Carl Betcher senior vice president of the RV Group and announced Vince Monza retired from his position as vice president of the Motor Home Division.
Betcher, formerly vice president of Fleetwood’s Travel Trailer Division, fills a position that had been vacant since Dick Parks was fired during July.
Meanwhile, Monza, former general manager of Fleetwood’s motorhome manufacturing complex in Decatur, Ind., came out of retirement last July to replace John Weiss, who also was fired due to the poor performance of the company’s motorhome division.
“We wish to congratulate Vince and thank him for his 20 years at Fleetwood,” said Nelson Potter, president and COO.
During the last few months, Monza “helped refocus the (motorhome) division on critical goals and objectives such as cost reduction, improving dealer relationships and priority design improvements to be unveiled at the 38th annual National RV Trade Show Nov. 28-30 in Louisville,” Potter said.
No replacement for Monza was named.
Betcher has been a Fleetwood employee for 27 years, starting as assistant controller-operations. He was a travel trailer plant manager from 1985 until he was appointed general manager of Fleetwood’s (manufactured) Housing Group in 1992.
In 1997, Betcher assumed the leadership role in the travel trailer division.
Betcher is a CPA who holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from California State University, Los Angeles.
