Black Book, which publishes a family of vehicle appraisal guides, has released the Black Book RV market commentary for December.
“The values of used RVs sold at wholesale auctions dropped quite a bit last month, with Motorhome values at some of the lowest levels we have recorded during the past several years. Towables dropped for the fourth consecutive month, with values falling to lows we have not seen for quite some time. Seasonality is certainly playing a role here, as is the ongoing arrival of MY2026 units on dealers’ lots,” noted noted Eric Lawrence, principal automotive analyst, specialty vehicles.
“Taking a closer look at the markets,” he continued, “we see that the average selling price for Motorhomes was $54,848, which is down $8,830 (13.9%) from the previous month. Towables came in at $15,203, down $1,173 (7.2%) from last month. One year ago the average motorhome sold for $54,243 and the average towable brought $19,062.”
Auction volume was mixed: motorhomes decreased 29.5% while towables rose by 1.5%.
