Matt Wallace wants to be crowned the ‘Trailer Park Champ’ this week so he can live the same life of luxury as Rickie Fowler and Jason Day.

The Sun reported that England’s Wallace, 29, rented what he believed was a “super-whoosher RV” for the week.

But when he parked it next to the huge ones Fowler and Day had, he said he felt “like one of the Beverly Hillbillies, living on millionaires row.”

Like a number of players in the U.S. Open field, Wallace has refused to pay the sky-high hotel prices. So he decided on a luxurious camper for the week. But the Londoner admits he got “RV envy” when he saw Fowler and Day stepping out of theirs.

He said, “I was talking with Danny Willett about how ridiculous the hotel prices were when he told me he was getting an RV, and that lots of other players were doing the same thing. That sounded like a great idea, and I thought it was even better when I picked mine up.

“It seemed like a real super-whoosher — all the mod cons, loads of room, and an incredible parking spot at Cypress Point, overlooking the ocean and just three minutes away from Pebble.

“But when I saw what the likes of Jason and Rickie were staying in, it was bit of an eye-opener. Their vans are twice the size of ours, and me and Danny have actually started calling ourselves the Hillbillies.

“I guess that’s how the other half lives. Maybe if I win this one, or at least play as well as I did at the USPGA last month, I’ll be able to join them in the ultra-posh RV class.”
