Camping World Inc., the nation’s leading retailer of RV and outdoor accessories and supplies, plans to expand its Bowling Green call center. The expansion will add 40 positions over the next 60 days and will grow to 60 positions seasonally at the company’s Bowling Green headquarters, according to a press release.
Plans call for the center, which previously had been moved to a Denver, Col., location, to be operational by the first of the year. “We have decided to move all of our call center operations back to Bowling Green,” Camping World COO Mark Boggess notes in the press release. “Our roots have been in the Bowling Green community for over 40 years and we plan to continue to grow here.”
The inbound call center, which assists consumers in placing product orders, providing technical support and resolving customer service questions, will also service the Camping World President’s Club, a buyer’s club consisting of over 670,000 members.
Camping World is on a steep growth curve, the company asserts.
“In addition to the robust growth of its sophisticated, direct marketing programs which include online and catalog sales, Camping World’s SuperCenters have grown over the last year from 44 to 57 stores and are gaining market share,” according to Camping World, an affiliate of Affinity Group Inc., parent of TL Enterprises Inc., publisher of RV Business and RVBUSINESS.com. “The company expects to have in excess of 100 SuperCenters by 2008.”
Forty-year-old Camping World’s 57 stores today include more than 350 service bays in 24 states, and the combined circulation of its catalogs and sales flyers exceed 25 million annually. The Web site, www.campingworld.com, logs 8 million visits each year.
