RV retailer Camping World will be relocating its East Coast regional distribution center from its headquarters in Bowling Green, Ky., to nearby Franklin.
According to a report in the Franklin Favorite, the company had outgrown the 120,000 square-foot warehouse in Bowling Green. Camping World will require around 80 employees for the Franklin facility and workers at the current distribution center will be offered jobs at the new location.
“There will be no layoffs among the employees affected by the move,” said David Garvin, Camping World founder and board member. “In fact, the company plans on doing some hiring as it expands its operations in its new facility in Franklin.”
Camping World will initially occupy 175,000 of the 250,000 square feet available in the new building and has a three-year option of taking over the remainder of the space.
The Franklin operation will serve as Camping World’s distribution center for the company’s stores in the eastern three-quarters of the United States and for all of its mail-order business.
“We are thrilled to have a company the caliber of Camping World to locate in one of our industrial parks. We anticipate they will have a lot of growth in the coming years,” said Franklin Industrial Authority Chairman John Raines.
