Camping World Holdings Inc. announced that an agreement has been signed to acquire Dixie RV Superstore located in Newport News, Va.

According to release, the acquisition of Dixie RV Superstore – not to be confused with Louisiana-based Dixie RV SuperStores which operates four dealer locations across the South — aligns with Camping World’s future growth plans as the company expects to announce several additional markets of expansion throughout the country in 2018.

“I always look for three things — people, process and product — in relation to enhancing our Camping World presence, all of which are exemplified by Dixie RV Superstore,” said Marcus Lemonis, chairman of Camping World Holdings. “We acquire quality RV dealerships nationwide as part of our growth strategy to expand our selection, brand, products and services to a broader client base.”

Camping World Holdings currently operates seven locations in Virginia specializing in RV sales, service and parts and accessories. With the new acquisition, the company will further expand the market footprint by increasing Camping World’s presence in the state of Virginia to eight retail locations.

“We are well-positioned to remain a leader in the RV industry as it continues to evolve,” said Brent Moody, chief operating officer of Camping World Holdings. “The addition of Dixie RV Superstore will allow us to expand our footprint in the state of Virginia while continuing to deliver a high standards of customer service and integrity in the industry.”

Currently in its 51st year of operation, Dixie RV Superstores was founded by Crosby Forrest and has grown to include a 20,000-square-foot showroom with about $6 million in inventory on hand. Forrest, who passed away Jan. 5, 2017, was key in the creation and development of the Recreational Vehicle Dealers Association (RVDA), including serving as chairman, vice president, treasurer, and as a board member. The company has earned numerous distinctions over the years, including multiple RVBusiness Top 50 Dealer Awards.
