Canadian RV rental firm CanaDream Corp., Calgary, Alberta, reports its reservations and sales revenue are up because Europeans have become less hesitant about intercontinental air travel for vacations.
The company’s total number of RV reservations was up 17% as of March 27, according to Brian Gronberg, president and CEO. Its year-to-date revenue nights are up 18% and its prepaid reservations are up 20%, he added.
“The public is once again confident in the safety of our skies,” Gronberg said.
CanaDream depends largely upon Europeans visiting Canada and the company reports its prepaid reservations from Germany are up 48% and they are up 47% from The Netherlands and 17% from the United Kingdom.
One exception is Switzerland, where prepaid reservations are off 50%, but Gronberg attributes the drop to the fact that Switzerland’s national airline, Swissair, operated near bankruptcy until Sunday (March 31), when it shut down.
