Caravan Salon Düsseldorf 2014 is expanding with the addition of two exhibit halls. The show, set to run Aug. 30 through Sept. 7, will now encompass 11 halls in Germany’s Düsseldorf Exhibition Centre along with outside display areas. Organizers noted that a trade visitor day will precede the event on Aug. 29.
The annual event will present a total of 580 exhibitors showing motorhomes and towable RVs in all price categories, basic vehicles, accessories, extension elements, tents, camp sites and motorhome parking facilities along with travel destinations. In all, around 1,900 RVs will be on display.
“In recent years the exhibiting companies have asked us to adapt the hall structure to the increased demand. Messe Düsseldorf as the organizer, and the German Caravanning Industry Association as the conceptual sponsor, are now complying with this request,” Stefan Koschke, director of Caravan Salon Düsseldorf, stated in a press release.
Organizers said that new trends in the European RV industry will be represented, including compact motorhomes offering more agility, fuel economy and efficient floorplans. Also on display will be latest advances in environmentally friendly RVs that reduce energy consumption and emissions.
A special themed display will highlight ways to combine RVing with water sports. A water landscape will be located in the center of the facility where canoes, kayaks and Canadian canoes will be demonstrated. It will feature a meandering watercourse on which the visitors can experience canoe sports at first hand.
Parallel to this event on the second weekend (Sept. 5-7), the hiking and trekking fair TourNatur will be held once again. In Hall 1 more than 5,000 hiking destinations will be presented, while in Hall 2 there will be the latest equipment for hiking and trekking including advice from experts.
