Caravan Salon will again be an important platform for the global RV sector, set to run Aug. 29 to Sept. 6 at the exhibition center in Düsseldorf, Germany. According to a press release, a trade visitors day will be held on August 28.
This year’s trade fair will feature 590 international exhibitors with 130 brands encompassing about 2 million square feet in 11 halls and outdoor space at the exhibition center. “Visitors can look forward to a complete market overview, numerous world premieres and a host of innovations. Demand from companies was so great that the halls were fully booked early on,” stated Caravan Salon Director Stefan Koschke.
The continued growth of Caravan Salon resulted in a new hall structure. “We want to offer visitors a coherent basic structure with clear segmentation, quick orientation and short distances. Which is why we have decided to optimize hall occupation enabling us to show even greater variety,” explained Koschke. The accessories segment with tents, folding/tent caravans, camping equipment, outdoor products and leisure goods will move into Hall 5 while the tourism segment with camping and motorhome sites as well as travel destinations will be located in Hall 7, close to the north entrance.
For several years, increased participation from the popular box van and van categories have been recorded at Caravan Salon. To meet exhibitors’ increased space requests, box vans and vans will move into Hall 15. As before, industrial suppliers will be located in Hall 13, Halls 9-12 as well as Halls 14 and 16, while Hall 17 will house motorohomes and RVs. Overall, more than 2,000 leisure vehicles will be presented.
The lineup of vehicles to be presented in 2015 ranges from folding caravans and family vehicles to luxury motorhomes, from vehicle classics to the new models for the 2016 season. Manufacturers are focusing on lightweight construction, environmental technology, security systems, reduced energy consumption and future-oriented developments.
In addition, new technical developments and detachable parts are very popular with visitors. In Hall 13 alone, 150 international exhibitors will display the latest equipment, technology and installations for RVs and motorhomes.
In Hall 12, non-manufacturer affiliated industry experts will offer practical tips and information on the general topic of RVs and motorhomes. In various themed worlds, beginners as wells as experienced RV users can learn about on-board technology, different vehicle types and can get individual advice on travel routes and camping sites. An information stage with lectures on specific topics rounds off the special show.
An informative entertainment program, consisting of the Dream Tours cinema showing unique travel destinations and the Adventure Camp organized by the Dusseldorf Sports Clubs Federation, will complement the exhibits. At the Special Show of the Caravanning Industry Association (CIVD), attendees can experience the fascination of RVs at various “pit stops” along a course and win a host of prizes.
Many of the RV fans will travel to the event in their own vehicles, with about 60,000 attendees spending the night in their RVs or mobile homes at the Caravan Center offering more than 3,500 serviced and non-serviced parking spaces.
As in the past, TourNatur – Germany’s only consumer trade fair for hiking and trekking – will again be held parallel with Caravan Salon on the second weekend (September 4–6). In Hall 4, hiking enthusiasts will get information on the most beautiful hiking destinations and the latest hiking and trekking equipment. A total of 275 exhibitors will present about 5,000 travel destinations, while independent hiking experts will offer tips for planning tours.
