Carriage Inc., Millersburg, Ind., has introduced three 2009 travel trailer floorplans in the previously all-fifth-wheel, yacht-inspired Domani brand.
“They are perfect for half-ton pickup trucks,” said Don Emahiser, Carriage vice president of sales and marketing. “They are full-time travel trailers. They have everything the fifth-wheels do, but in a pull-behind format.”
Fiberglass-and-aluminum Domani travel trailers, retailing from $49,000 in 24- to 30-foot lengths, feature all-Corian countertops, cherry cabinets, 26-inch Samsung LCD TVs and motorized LP bottle covers.
Although not being marketed as lightweight trailers, high-end Domani travel trailers – at 6,000 to 8,000 pounds dry weight – are 10% to 30% lighter than Domani fifth-wheels.
The new towables were shown for the first time to about 200 people representing more than 60 dealerships during Carriage’s dealer meeting June 9-11 at the Seaport Hotel and Convention Center in Boston, Mass.
“It was a very positive meeting in light of the times,” Emahiser said. “The new offerings were received better than any that we’d put out there before.”
In addition to the Domani travel trailers, Carriage also showed dealers the first full-wall slideout in its best-selling Cameo fifth-wheel line, which now offers 10 floorplans.
