Mid-to-highline towables manufacturer Carriage Inc. reports its sales during last month’s National RV Trade Show in Louisville were up by 52% when compared with the 2001 Louisville show.
The Millersburg, Ind.-based company also signed more new dealers during the recent Louisville show than was the case a year earlier, added Dave Lawson, vice president of sales and manufacturing.
At Louisville, Carriage introduced the five-slideout Carri-Lite XTRM5 fifth-wheel and dealers “were excited about the unique and innovative floorplan,” said Kathy Fuller, marketing manager. “The only problem is that we can’t build them fast enough for demand. Dealers may have to wait up to 12 weeks to get one on their lot.”
Carriage’s dealers were informed about the XTRM5 prior to the Louisville show and some placed orders sight unseen, Fuller added.
Carriage’s production lines in northeast Indiana are operating five days a week, and Lawson said, “We don’t see an end to that.”
