Plans for a 115-acre hotel/casino, shopping plaza, RV park and recreation complex recently were submitted to Douglas County, Nev., land use authorities, according to the Record-Courier newspaper of Gardnerville, Nev.

The development is planned for a site near the junction of U.S. 395 and Nevada State Highway 88, near the village of Minden, south of Reno.

The owner of the property is Nevada Northwest LLC and the developer is Sands Regency.

The development would occur in three phases, according to the newspaper.

An open house is scheduled for today (July 31) for developers to discuss the project and answer questions from property owners, according to the Record-Courier.

The site is zoned for commercial use but the property owners will need a zoning change to tourist commercial in order to operate a casino and RV park on the property.
