Ed Caudill, Fleetwood Enterprises Inc.’s new president and CEO, said he will “build on the turnaround that has already begun here.”
Caudill joined Fleetwood effective Aug. 12 after serving as vice president of the PACCAR subsidiary of Kenworth Truck Co. Caudill had “full P&L (profit and loss) responsibility” at PACCAR, according to a Fleetwood statement.
About his first days at his new job, Caudill said, “I am greatly impressed with the energy and commitment of our team here at Fleetwood. The RV Group has regained its position of leadership in that exciting marketplace, while the Housing Group is managing its way through a unique set of industry challenges.
“The Fleetwood name is a powerful brand, and my biggest task is to build on the turnaround that has already begun here and restore that name to full prominence,” Caudill added.
Caudill replaced David Engelman, a retired financial services firm executive and Fleetwood Board member who served as president and CEO since February, when Nelson Potter was ousted.
About Fleetwood’s employees, Engelman said he found “their enthusiasm and dedication to this great company is impressive. As I now return to my role as an independent member of the company’s Board of Directors, I have great confidence in the future of Fleetwood and in Ed Caudill’s leadership of an outstanding group of people.”
