Cedar Fair LP, owner/operator of the popular Cedar Point amusement park complex in Sandusky, Ohio, will add 38 “luxury RV campsites” at its Lighthouse Point camping complex next year.
The addition of 14 new lakeside cottages and 30 cabins also is planned for Lighthouse Point, located along Lake Erie between Toledo and Cleveland.
Cedar Fair plans to invest a total of $10 million in 2004 on Cedar Point-related facilities.
“Our efforts to enhance Cedar Point as a total resort destination continue with expansions to our Lighthouse Point luxury camping complex and Soak City water park,” said Dick Kinzel, chairman, president and CEO of Cedar Fair.
The additional RV campsites, cottages and cabins “will add capacity to what has quickly become one of our most popular guest accommodation facilities,” Kinzel said.
Cedar Fair also owns Knott’s Berry Farm in Buena Park, Calif., and water parks near San Diego and Palm Springs, Calif., along with several other amusement properties.
