Veteran Fleetwood and Workhorse executive Larry Chandler has been named director of the Good Sam Authorized Dealer Program, an emerging division of Affinity Group Inc. (AGI), Ventura, Calif.
The dealer network, initiated in late 2004, has expanded from 14 to 37 dealerships over the last six months, which has “accelerated plans to add a key leadership position,” according to an AGI release.
“My plan as newly appointed director of the dealer program is to continue growing our Good Sam dealer network, expand the product offering, provide exclusive training on each product and unique marketing tools for the program,” Chandler said. “We will raise the bar for customer satisfaction and increase the end user’s confidence when they buy from an authorized dealer. I firmly believe when the name is Good Sam, there is a whole lot in it for RV owners.”
Chandler served in several capacities in his 23-year career with Fleetwood, having directed RV group planning and overseen development of the Riverside, Calif., manufacturer’s Revolution motorhome. Chandler more recently had served as director of product planning for Workhorse Custom Chassis Inc., Union City, Ind., now a subsidiary of Chicago-based International Truck and Engine Corp.
“The Good Sam Authorized Dealer Program is very fortunate to have found someone with Larry’s tremendous background in the RV industry to head up this program” said Scott Blanc, vice president of AGI’s Continued Service Plan Division.
Good Sam’s national network of authorized dealers have exclusive access to a wide range of products and services, including the Good Sam Certified Pre-Owned Program and the Good Sam Continued Service Program, according to the release from AGI, parent of TL Enterprises Inc., which publishes RV Business and operates RVBUSINESS.com.
Good Sam authorized dealers are required to comply with strict quality standards for repair and customer service in order to quality for participation in the program, the release states.
