Chicagoland Speedway has added 184 more RV spaces in its infield section to keep pace with demand, according The Motor Sports Forum.
The new infield RV spaces are along the backstretch and inside Turn 1, which will place RVing race fans closer to the on-track action, said Matthew Alexander, vice president and general manager of the facility, which is near Joliet, Ill.
Chicagoland Speedway, which hosts both NASCAR and IRL races, has track and nontrackside RV spaces in its infield and in Speedway Ridge, which is outside of the backstretch between Turn 2 and Turn 3.
The speedway currently is filling 2004 RV space requests for 2003 account holders. Once those orders are filled, 2004 Wait List requests will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
A nonrefundable $25 deposit must be paid to get on the 2004 RV Wait List.
If there are any RV spaces left after all 2004 Wait List orders are filled, the remaining spaces will go on sale to the general public on Feb. 16.
Chicagoland Speedway’s 2004 season will begin July 10 with the NASCAR Busch Series Tropicana Twister 300.
