Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas will be the featured speaker during the Recreation Vehicle Industry Association’s (RVIA) Committee Week gathering in Washington, D.C., in June, the association reported in RVIA Today, its newsletter.
Justice Thomas will speak during a joint committee luncheon on June 7. The luncheon will be from 11:45 a.m. to 1:15 p.m.
Committee Week this year will be from June 7 through June 10 and the meetings will take place at the Willard InterContinental Hotel, located about two blocks from the White House.
Only RVIA members can attend the committee meetings.
More than 160 RVIA members are expected to attend to plan the association’s agenda for its next fiscal year, which will begin Oct. 1.
Each standing committee will meet either June 7 or 8 to discuss their particular agendas and long-range goals. On June 9, all committee chairpersons will give half-hour presentations and provide recommendations to the RVIA’s Executive Committee.
The Executive Committee, which also functions as the Long Range Planning Committee, will then decide whether to vote on June 10 to pass any of the committee recommendations. Any recommendations that are passed will then become the framework for the RVIA’s agenda for the next fiscal year.
The Go RVing Coalition, which includes representatives of the dealer and campground communities, also will meet on June 7 from 1:15 to 5 p.m.
The RVIA represents RV manufacturers and their suppliers.
