The stocks of of Coachmen Industries Inc. and Fleetwood Enterprises Inc. both reached new 52-week highs in New York Stock Exchange trading Wednesday (Jan. 14).
Coachmen stock climbed as high as $19.60 a share Wednesday, surpassing its previous 52-week high of $19.20. Coachmen closed at $19.11 Wednesday, up 46 cents for the day.
Meanwhile, Fleetwood stock climbed as high as $12.22 a share on Wednesday, shattering its previous 52-week high of $11.61. Fleetwood closed Wednesday at $12.00, up 50 cents for the trading session.
Coachmen and Fleetwood are similar in that both are major motorhome and towable RV builders with significant involvement in housing. Coachmen is an important modular home builder and Fleetwood is a major manufactured housing producer.
Neither company made issue any statements Wednesday that would explain their market gains.
Workhorse Custom Chassis did reveal earlier this week that both firms are working on producing Class A motorhomes on the new Workhorse W24 gas engine chassis, which has the payload carrying capacity to allow motorhome builders to include many diesel pusher features on lower-priced gas engine coaches.
