The RV Group of Elkhart, Ind.-based Coachmen Industries Inc. has opened a regional service center in Chino, Calif., expanding the company’s presence in the growing West Coast market.
The service center, which is expected to create 50 jobs, is situated on a 12-acre complex in San Bernardino County just outside Los Angeles.
“We decided it makes good business sense to open a multipurpose service facility on the West Coast to address the growing expectations of our dealers and retail customers,” said Jerry McCarthy, vice president of service operations for Coachmen’s RV Group.
The expansive complex will include three separate buildings: a 65,000-square-foot combination full-service center and wholesale parts distribution warehouse; a 12,000-square-foot paint and body repair facility; and an 8,000-square-foot multiuse training center.
The service center will offer a full menu of repair and maintenance options for both dealers and RV owners.
“Our goal is to supplement our dealers’ repair efforts in order to assure ongoing customer satisfaction throughout the entire ownership cycle,” McCarthy said. “While we will have the ability to perform services ranging from routine maintenance to complex repairs, our primary objective is to aid our dealers in the timely service of major repairs for our joint customers.”
The center will service RVs built by Coachmen Industries’ RV Group, which includes Coachmen Recreational Vehicle Company LLC, Georgie Boy Manufacturing LLC and Viking Recreational Vehicles LLC.
Coachmen’s RV Group also has service facilities in Middlebury, Ind., Edwardsburg, Mich., and Fitzgerald, Ga.
