The Coast Distribution System Inc. recently announced that it will be replacing its annual dealer buying show with a program that allows retailers to view new products and special discounts online.
According to the Morgan Hill, Calif.-based RV and marine aftermarket accessories distributor, its new DirectSUCCESS Dealer Advantage Program is designed to “take the benefits of a distributor show direct to the dealership.”
“Dealers tell us loud and clear that in today’s economic environment they need our help to stay competitive,” said Jim Musbach, president of Coast. “Many dealers want to take advantage of show discounts, but have not been able to attend because of retail show conflicts.”
Musbach contended that due to costs and other variables, the old distributor show format may have “run its course.”
“While our show has been a success for 20 years, we decided to advance to something better – a program that replaces the cost and inconvenience of attending the show with a much more powerful lineup of new products, additional discounts, and incentives,” he said.
Coast said that through its website at www.coastdistribution.com, dealers can access new product information, check out a full range of vendor opportunities, see special product flyers and promotions, review program benefits, dating, plan-o-grams, and product order forms.
The company noted that central to the program is the new Supplier Showcase, where participating suppliers can show their products “any way they prefer,” from .PDF brochures to animation and full video.
“Imagine a vendor being able to show off their products when they are at their best, in their preferred setting, without interruption, and to a much bigger group of dealers” said Musbach. “In addition to being more effective, when the long-term cost savings are passed on to the dealer, everyone benefits.”
