Commercial Vehicle Goup Inc., a New Albany, Ohio-based auto parts maker, has acquired recreational vehicle components supplier Cabarrus Plastics Inc. for $12.1 million.
Concord, N.C.-based Cabbarus, which manufactures custom injection molded products for the RV industry, reported $13 million in revenue in 2004.
The purchase brings Commercial Vehicle new customers and expands its capabilities in injection molding, said Mervin Dunn, Commercial Vehicle president and CEO.
The company expects Cabarrus to contribute $6 million in sales to its top line in the remainder of 2005.
Commercial Vehicle was formed over the last few years out of the acquisition of a number of other companies and went public in August 2004. Its products include truck cabs, electronic wiring, interior trim and auto seats.
The company reported earnings of $25.1 million on $348.5 million in revenue in the first half of 2005.
