Construction is moving forward on an upscale, 512-site RV resort in Okeechobee, Fla.
Developers of Silver Palms RV Village, which will feature a 9,000-square-foot Grand Old Florida style clubhouse, said the first phase of the project will be open by winter.
“We offer oversized lots to accommodate the needs of our distinguished RV buyers,” said developer Bill Harvey in a news release. “Some of our lots have beautiful views of our lakes and nature preserve areas. Everyone will have tremendous access to all of the luxury resort amenities.”
The resort is located less than quarter mile from Lake Okeechobee, the second largest freshwater lake in the U.S.
The Silver Palms RV community offers five-star amenities, including professional landscaping, a large, heated resort-style swimming pool and Jacuzzi, four pristine lakes and private RV lots. The facility also features a fully equipped fitness center, billiards room and a private, members-only lounge. A full-time activities director will be on staff.
“With five RVs for every available RV lot in the U.S., more and more RV owners are considering the purchase of their own RV lot in a quality setting,” Harvey said. “An ownership RV resort offers a sensible alternative to other second-home options for travelers who wish to own a home in a northern climate but also escape the winter season in a secluded, gated community in Florida.”
Developers said the resort will be open to all classes of motorhomes, along with travel trailers and fifth-wheels. Recreational park trailers will also be accommodated, although some restrictions apply.
