Even though the temperatures were near freezing, Wednesday’s (March 22) groundbreaking for Genesis Products’ new $10 million, 200,000-square-foot facility in Goshen, Ind, demonstrated that growth in the recreational vehicle industry is still hot.

As reported by the Elkhart Truth, the company plans to move some employees to the new Goshen facility by September, according to Genesis Products President and CEO Jon Wenge.

The company, which specializes in manufacturing laminated panels and interior components for the RV industry, employs 525 and owns seven facilities around Elkhart and Goshen, as well as one in Virginia.

Caitlin Munch, a communications assistant with Genesis Products, was not sure of how many jobs the new facility would create, given that some postions in other factories may move over. She confirmed, however, that 100 employees eventually will fill the new facility.

Genesis will be adding a new laminating line in the facility. Wenger said at the groundbreaking that the new facility will allow Genesis to utilize better transportation networks, including rail transportation.
